The young actress, who is also the ITC Fiama brand ambassador, takes good care of her skin and hair for that extra radiance on screen. In a candid chat, the Metro... With monsoons here, what are the changes you have made in your skincare routine?

Monsoon brings this mix of humidity and unpredictability, which can really throw my skin off. So, I have simplified my skincare by ditching anything too heavy, and instead I have added a moisturising bar that doesn’t clog my skin but keeps it hydrated with no chip chip!

Any haircare tips from you?

Monsoon hair is real — it frizzes, flattens, and sometimes both in the same hour! I have learnt to be kind to my hair during this season. I try to avoid excessive heat styling and stick to light oils and leave-in conditioners that tame the flyaway.

What is your general skincare routine like?

Honestly, I believe in a routine that’s quick, indulgent and consistent. I start my day with a gentle cleanse. It is deeply moisturising yet lightweight and non-sticky, so my skin stays moisturised all day. I follow that with some sunscreen, and I’m good to go. At night, I add in a nourishing mask once or twice a week, especially if I’ve been travelling or shooting outdoors. And lots of water. My skin loves hydration from the inside out.

What is skincare magic for you?

It’s when skincare doesn’t feel like a chore, but a moment. That little pause in the day where you unwind and treat yourself. So, I keep it simple, and give my skin what it needs — hydration, rest and rejuvenation.

How has your wellness routine changed over the years?

I think I have grown into building a wellness routine for myself. Some days it’s just yoga. And some days it is a workout, but most days, it is about eating right.

They say stress is a killer and is savage for your skin and hair. What do you do to keep stress at bay?

I totally agree. Stress shows up on your skin before you even realise it’s there. For me, movement is a must, whether it’s a quick jog, yoga, or even dancing around the room. I also try to slow down my evenings. Going for long walks without my phone, lighting a candle, stepping into a long shower with soothing scents, and just unplugging from the chaos really helps.

While travelling, what is your skincare kit like?

Very travel-smart! I carry a compact toiletry pouch with essentials, sunscreen, a multipurpose balm, among others.

One skincare item that is always in your handbag?

Sunscreen, without a doubt. With my schedule constantly shifting from outdoor shoots to long travel days, it’s the one non-negotiable in my bag. I always reach for something lightweight, so it sits well under make-up but also gives my skin a dewy, fresh feel.

The skincare discovery of the year…

While we have all heard and spoken about a lot of new skincare trends, I have discovered something really interesting in the J-beauty world — Hokkaido Milk from Japan! Fiama has now brought this innovation to the Indian market, and I absolutely love it!

One thing that makes Sara Ali Khan’s skin happy?

Honestly, my skin is happiest when I’m sticking to the basics, eating clean ghar ka khana, working out regularly, sleeping on time, and staying hydrated.
