Want the iconic looks of the famous Nissan Patrol but in a smaller package? The manufacturer has lined up just the vehicle in the mid-size SUV Tekton that is scheduled to roll out in India mid-2026. This will slot in between Nissan’s current models in India, Magnite and X-Trail.
The Tekton will compete with the likes of market leader Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Skoda Kushaq, among others, which comprise a highly competitive market. It has been designed and developed by Nissan’s global teams in Japan, London and India. The SUV is also supposed to be exported from India.
Saurabh Vatsa, managing director, Nissan Motor in India, said: “The Nissan Tekton is going to be at the centre of the Nissan’s resurgence story and offers a glimpse into the future of our product portfolio in the country. With its commanding stance, bold looks and premium interiors, we are confident that it will be a segment disruptor, appealing to customers seeking a robust yet refined C-SUV. This model will spearhead Nissan’s growth story in India.”
“The product onslaught starts with Quarter 1 of calendar year 2026, and the new C-SUV (named Tekton) is going to come by the middle of next year,” said Vatsa.
Nissan has set a target to triple its domestic and export volumes to 100,000 each per annum by the end of FY26. According to its ‘One Car One World’ philosophy the Magnite had a left-hand drive version that is going to more than 65 markets. The idea will be similar for the Tekton.
