The Mahalaya special, Jago Ma Jago Durga, airs on September 21 at 5am on Zee Bangla. This year’s theme focuses on the 'Shongharkari Roop of Durga' — the fierce and protective manifestations of the Mother Goddess. Viewers will witness Durga in her avenging yet divine avatars: rescuing oppressed women from injustice and dispelling the darkness of ignorance.

The ensemble cast includes Shweta Bhattacharya as Durga, Ishani Chatterjee as Bhadrakali, Tanishka Tiwari as Gandheswari, Divyani Mondal as Tripura Sundari, Aratrika Maity as Kaushiki, Anwesha Hazra as Jagaddhatri and Mohona Maiti as Kali. A special highlight of this year’s Mahalaya is Idhika Paul, portraying the nurturing Parvati and the fierce Mahishasurmardini, culminating in the epic battle against Mahishasura.
