Expressing his gratitude, Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, “Thank you @Mohanlal sir for adding such special essence to this song. I wish I could match your brilliance even halfway. Much respect to you sir, and I eagerly anticipate our dinner together. You truly embody the spirit of ‘Zinda Banda’.”

In response, Mohanlal humbly acknowledged Shah Rukh's praise, emphasising the latter's unparalleled talent and suggesting a lively breakfast rendezvous infused with the spirit of Zinda Banda.

“Dear @iamsrk, nobody can do it like you! You are and always will be the OG Zinda Banda in your classic, inimitable style. Thanks for your kind words. Also, just dinner? Why not groove to some Zinda Banda over breakfast, too?” Mohanlal wrote.

“Done sir. Your place or mine?” Shah Rukh was quick to reply. Would love to host you at mine,” came Mohanlal’s response.

The song Zinda Banda, penned by Irshad Kamil and composed by Anirudh Ravichander, features in Shah Rukh’s 2023 blockbuster Jawan, directed by Atlee.

Shah Rukh enjoyed a remarkable professional resurgence in 2023, featuring in several box office hits. His triumphant return began with the action-packed blockbuster Pathaan, co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. Following this success, he graced the screen in Atlee's widely acclaimed Jawan, alongside Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, and Vijay Sethupathi, followed by Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki, where he shared screen space with Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Boman Irani, concluding the year on a high note.

Mohanlal, on the other hand, was last seen in Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Malaikottai Vaaliban, which released in theatres in January.
