Assam BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass exuded confidence that his party will win 13 of the state’s 14 Lok Sabha seats.

Addressing a rally at Mahamaya playground of Gauripur town here on Sunday, Dass said, “There is a BJP wave in Assam. Compared to the 2014 elections, we will do better and our voting percentage will also increase because of our pre-poll alliance with the AGP and the BPF. People across the country have already decided to give another term to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who can take on terrorism and provide a strong leadership.”

Modi has taken up a number of development schemes such as the Ujjwala, Ayushmaan Bharat, Swachh Bharat Mission and the Kisan Samman Samridhi Yojana among others for the benefit of the poor, he added.

Dass said he visited most of the Lok Sabha constituencies across the state and found that compared to the 2014 polls, support for Modi has increased.

“We will win more than 300 seats in the country,” he added.

Dass said the people of Assam are aware of the “secret alliance between the Congress and the AIUDF which would directly benefit the BJP”.

He alleged that despite being the Dhubri MP for 10 years, AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal did nothing for his constituency and thus Dhubri turned into one of the most backward districts of India.

Dass also lambasted the Congress that “failed to fulfil the basic needs of people despite ruling in Assam for the past 15 years”.

Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimari, minister for minority development Ranjit Dutta, Golakganj MLA Aswini Roy Sarkar and former BPF legislator Bolendra Mushahary addressed today’s rally.
