Cleanliness drive on in Jamshedpur

Corporate houses and civic bodies across the city have taken steps to ensure that areas under their purview are regularly sanitised with disinfectants.

From, Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Ltd (TSUIS, erstwhile Jusco) has started a cleanliness drive at market places and residential complexes under the Tata sub-lease area. Workers with safety protocols have been pressed into service to disinfect various areas of the city on daily. From Tuesday, they have been asked to only operate between 6am and 2pm, said special officer of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) Krishna Kumar.

“We are regularly using disinfectants to sanitise various market areas that bear more risk,” said TSUIS spokesperson Sukanya Das. “Company residential areas are also getting sanitised.”

Tata Motors too has been sanitising the Telco area, specially the Azadnagar and Kharangajhar markets.

An official said it was being done every four days. “We are also making people aware about safety precautions including washing hands and not stepping out,” said a senior official.
