ATK sign two more

Calcutta: Atletico de Kolkata  (ATK) have signed two new Spanish players — Jaime Gavilan Martinez and Jose Luis Espinosa Arroyo — for the upcoming second season of the ISL. The 35-year-old Martinez is a midfielder currently plays for Greek club Platanias FC. Arroyo is a 24-year-old defender has been trained at the Atletico Madrid academy.

Bagan move

Calcutta: I-League champions Mohun Bagan signed striker Subhas Singh on a one-year contract on Thursday. Subhas represented Bharat FC last season.

France advance

Ottawa: France and England advanced to the last 16 of the Women's World Cup. Colombia booked their spot as one of the best third-placed finishers. 

Third-ranked France whipped Mexico 5-0 to finish top of Group F with six points. England, also on six points but behind France on goal difference, beat Colombia 2-1. Colombia advanced past the group stage for the first time.

 Calcutta: Howrah ABS defeated East Kolkata Table Tennis Promotional Organisation 4-2 in a match of the WBTTA Premier League, on Thursday. In another match, Calcutta University Institute beat Burrabazar Yuwak Sabha 4-1.

 New Delhi: India claimed both the junior boys and cadet girls team championship titles at the South Asian Junior and Cadet Table Tennis Championships here Thursday. 

Jhulan in

Calcutta: Jhulan Goswami is the lone cricketer from Bengal to be included in the probables list, for the women’s ODI series against New Zealand.
