Cristiano Ronaldo is a happy man nowadays. His long-cherished dream of winning a major trophy with the Portugal team was realised when they won the Euro 2016 final. And now, Cristiano is in a celebratory mood.
The Real Madrid star has decided to treat himself by spending his well-earned cash on a new luxurious sports car - a £1.7million Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport.
According to a Mail Online, "the black 16.4 Grand Sport, which is in the top range of the supercars made by Bugatti, is believed to go from 0-to-62 mph in just 2.6 seconds".
The report added that only 450 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport's are believed to have been produced.
The car has a top speed of 255-mph and the outer skin is also completely made of carbon fibre.
Praising the mean machine, a report in the Daily Telegraph said: "The 31-year-old does, however, risk being upstaged by his handsome ride.
"The Veyron has an output of 987 brake horsepower - surely rivalling that of its new owner, who's scored 364 goals in 348 senior games for his club side, Real Madrid."
In the Euro final, against hosts France, Cristiano could play only for 25 minutes before being substituted because of an injury.
He was reduced to tears when an accidental clash with Dimitri Payet in the first half of the final left him unable to carry on. He left the playing arena.
However, he later returned when the match spilled over into extra time.
His animated presence at the sidelines, urging his teammates to run for that extra yard for a memorable victory, was quite a spectacle.
As Eder's extra-time goal secured a 1-0 win for Portugal, Cristiano's heartbreak soon turned to elation.
It is quite understandable what urged him to go Bugatti with his celebrations!
But then, celebrations are not the only thing in Cristiano's mind.
A report in Marca said that Cristiano Ronaldo has visited a clinic while on holiday in Ibiza for hyperbaric oxygen therapy to speed recovery from his knee injury.
Neither the Portuguese FA nor Madrid have confirmed the extent of the injury but it has been reported as a ligament strain in his left knee, and that it will see him miss all of his club's preseason programme, including the Uefa Super Cup against Sevilla in Trondheim on August 9.
The report said: "Currently on holiday in Ibiza, where his luxury yacht was this week pictured close to that of Barcelona's Lionel Messi, Ronaldo has reportedly twice visited the Clinica Evidental - a dental clinic which according to Marca also provides the hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment as an additional service."
Marca's story on the visit says that inside the hermetically sealed hyperbaric chamber the player breathes pure oxygen at high pressure, which helps increase the oxygen level in the blood, and allows an injury to heal more quickly, but no real clinical evidence has yet proven it is actually useful.
Ronaldo has suffered from a series of knee problems in the past, with a tendonitis problem during the 2013-14 club campaign and 2014 World Cup putting his career at risk, although more recently that issue appeared to have eased.
The 31-year-old was hampered by a thigh problem before May's Champions League final, and appeared to be less than 100 percent fit during this summer's Euro 2016 finals in France.
