Kings XI thank good Samaritans
Port Elizabeth: Kings XI Punjab thanked the businessman, who returned Rand 4,50,000 to the IPL team, for his honesty. The team also thanked the hotel staff of the Garden Court Kings Beach hotel here.
Stephen Blewett, the boss of Altech Autopage Cellular, recovered the money from a room, which was earlier occupied by the IPL franchise.
New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore owner Vijay Mallya said on Saturday that Shah Rukh Khan has every right to experiment with multiple captains in his Kolkata Knight Riders team but he would stick to a single captain for the entire IPL in South Africa. “Shah Rukh is entitled to his plans. But as for me, I am not a cricketer like Brijesh Patel and Ray Jennings so I went by their suggestions before building the team,” said Mallya, who is currently in China for the Shanghai Grand Prix.
Melbourne: Cricket Australia (CA) has stopped pacer Shaun Tait from competing in the Indian Premier League, lending a further blow to defending champions Rajasthan Royals, already missing the services of prolific all-rounder Shane Watson due to injury. The 26-year-old bowler, who has been named in country’s 30-man preliminary squad for the World Twenty20 scheduled in England in June, was stopped by CA as it doesn’t want to risk his availability in the World Cup.
Karachi: The second edition of the IPL is receiving a lukewarm response among the people of Pakistan as no Pakistani cricketer is playing the Twenty20 tournament. The local viewers’ interest in the tournament this year is in complete contrast to last year when the IPL matches were passionately followed by fans here.
