Calcutta: Former ATK striker Fikru Teferra is joining Mohammedan Sporting after the club decided to part ways with striker Willis Plaza, who is now Churchill Brothers bound.

Fikru, who is expected to arrive next week, will be a big boost for Mohammedan Sporting who are preparing for the 2nd Division I-League.

The Ethiopian represented inaugural ISL winners ATK in 2014, scoring five goals in 12 appearances.

However, the next year, he shifted to Chennaiyin FC and made 11 appearances, winning the title with them as well. Fikru had also scored the very girst goal of the ISL.

Plaza, 30, made his senior appearance for Trinidad and Tobago in 2012 and in 23 matches so far, the striker has netted the ball seven times. Fikru, on the other hand, is a far more experienced campaigner having represented his country in 30 games since his debut in 2004.

Plaza is expected to be in the squad for the relegation-threatened Churchill's final I-League match against Minerva Punjab FC on Thursday.<>
