Calcutta: Dhawal Kulkarni and Mohit Sharma may have been overlooked for the World Cup squad, but the pace duo will find some consolation in the fact that they have been picked for the tri-series ahead of the World Cup, that will be played in Australia after the ongoing Test series.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee picked the 17-member squad for the tri-series, along with the World Cup squad, in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Tri-series squad

Batsmen: Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu

Wicketkeeper: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain)

All-rounders: Ravindra Jadeja, Stuart Binny

Spinners: Ravichandran Ashwin, Akshar Patel

Pacers: Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Dhawal Kulkarni
