Mumbai: The BCCI, on Tuesday, said its counterparts in Australia and Sri Lanka have expressed concern about letting their players sign up with Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) due to the uncertainty over the franchise’s participation in IPL-IV.

“Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and Cricket Australia (CA) have written to us saying they were worried about their players not having got their payment from the Punjab team for the 2010 season and also because their (KXIP’s) participation was in doubt,” BCCI’s counsel CA Sundaram said in the Bombay HC, Tuesday.

Justice Shiavax Jal Vazifdar, hearing a petition of the Kings XI Punjab owners KPH Dream Cricket Pvt. Ltd, reserved his verdict for Wednesday.

Justice Vazifdar also posed a query if the latter would give any “financial security” to the players it would sign up in the event of the final verdict in the case going against them.

The board’s appeal against the stay order on Rajasthan Royals’ termination, which was also being heard by Justice Vazifdar, would be taken up for hearing on Wednesday as well.
