Melbourne: New Zealand's leading all-rounder, Corey Anderson, spoke to The Telegraph informally at The Langhamon Friday evening.
Going into Sunday's World Cup final against Australia, Anderson (24) has scored 231 runs and taken 14 wickets.
Mr Dependable, in other words.
Excerpts...
Emotions ahead of the final...
We're excited, very excited. New Zealand's first World Cup final, after all.
Pressure...
Well, pressure is always there. That doesn't change.
Whether New Zealand are happy taking on Australia or if they would have preferred to play India...
One can't choose the opponent... We have to play somebody, don't we? Anybody is fine.
The MCG being an intimidating venue...
We've been training at the MCG... Yes, it's a bigger ground than what we're accustomed to playing in at home, but we aren't intimidated.
What could make the difference...
Can't say... Perhaps, the way one responds to and handles the moments which may have a bearing on the outcome.
Having ignited the imagination of fans back in New Zealand...
We've played the way we should be playing.
Finally... Captain Brendon McCullum taking the lead in New Zealand playing attractive and aggressive cricket...
Brendon's been terrific.
Anderson, meanwhile, was presented a parcel containing 'best of luck' cards and drawings by Noah Kember, a 10-year-old from Christchurch, on behalf of his class in the Paparoa Street School.
Noah is here with his father, Hamish, who said that the trip was planned months ago as a "birthday present" for his son.
"It's a great bonus that New Zealand are in the World Cup final. Noah has taken leave from school and brought cards and drawings on behalf of his classmates," the elder Kember informed.
Anderson, whose own roots are in Christchurch, was more than happy to receive the parcel as a Black Caps player.
