Calcutta, March 4 :     In the CAB first-division championship play-off league, Young Bengal lost their match to DKS by eight wickets, but then lodged a protest with the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). Young Bengal protested that Saurav Nehru, an outstation player, had played for Victoria Sporting in the last season, and was appearing for DKS in this year without taking a transfer, Debdas Bannerjee, the CAB joint secretary said. The CAB will hold as emergent meeting tomorrow to decide on the issue. YMCA College avoided relegation, defeating Ballygunge United by 171 runs. In championship playoff matches, Shibpur Institute defeated Belgachia United by 98 runs. In a close match, Eastern Railway Sports Association (ERSA) beat Barisha Sporting by 22 runs. Workshop for slum children A two-week sports workshop for slum children of the city will be organised by the non-governmental organisation, Vikramshila Education Resource Society, at SAI Eastern Centre, from Saturday. The workshop will be conducted by three German coaches Nadja Schott, Oliver Sticker and Wolfgang Kubitzki. Sticker coaches Arminia Bielefeld?s (a Bundesliga side) youth team; Kubitzki is a former German handball player and Schott is specialising in small games, sports for all, didactic and methodology of sport and games, planning and organising of sports events and selection of talent in the University of Frankfurt.
