Alia Bhatt on Thursday dropped a set of behind-the-scenes pictures of her getting ready to walk the red carpet at this year’s Met Gala held on May 6 in Manhattan.
The first picture is a collage with a sepia tone featuring the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actress getting her makeup and outfit ready. The collage gives a close-up shot of her kohl-rimmed eyes, nude lips and hair ornaments on her dramatic bun.
Alia shared a video in the next slide set to a classical tune. It kicks off by showing the actress, dressed in a floral mint green sari crafted by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, getting into a car. It later cuts to shots of her walking up the stairs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. It also shows her getting her makeup done and posing for the camera in the outfit.
“Till we meet again #MetGala2024,” Alia captioned the pictures posted on Instagram.
The third picture is from a photoshoot at her hotel ahead of her appearance on the red carpet in New York.
In the last picture, Alia walks on a large windowsill inside her hotel room overlooking tall skyscrapers in New York. The floral motifs and the fabric of her sari create a water-ripple effect on the floor.
Alia’s mother Soni Razdan was in awe of her look. “Ethereal and beautiful,” she commented. The Archies actor Mihir Ahuja dropped red heart emojis, while fans admired the actress for her beauty. “Alia looks like a royal queen,” a fan wrote in the comment section.
The Dear Zindagi actress’s Sabyasachi sari, crafted by 163 artisans, was in line with this year’s Met Gala theme — The Garden of Time. This marks Alia’s second appearance at the annual fundraising gala. She made her debut last year in a Prabal Gurung gown featuring over 1,00,000 pearls.
