Rourkela, May 11: A woman in her late 20s was found murdered at a hotel room near the railway station here on Friday night.
Police are looking for a middle-aged man who had checked into the hotel along with the woman on Friday. The hotel staff on Saturday found the body of the woman bleeding profusely with her legs tied with a sari and her throat slit.
The police are yet to establish the identities of the deceased and the suspect. The hotel staff had not kept any identity proof of the man and woman and the address given by the couple was found to be a fake one. “The body has been sent for post-mortem,” said J. Acharya, inspector in charge of the police station. Acharya that the man had given a visiting card while checking into the hotel which bore his name as Saket Narayan Singh, dermatologist of Bighamode in Gaya and he identified the woman as his wife Sony Singh.
Youths arrested
Sector-7 police of Rourkela arrested three persons near Lagun Park and seized a country-made pistol, a live bullet and a two-wheeler from them.
While the police team was patrolling, they came to know that the trio had been moving suspiciously carrying a pistol.
“When we asked them to produce documents for possession of firearms, the youths failed to answer. Following this, we arrested them,” said a police officer. The police said that two of them were from Jharkhand and Bihar while another one was a local.
