Bhubaneswar: Odisha Tourism has recently released a number of short videos focusing on various aspects of tourism in the state.
The videos, released on various social networking pages of Odisha Tourism, have garnered appreciation from various quarters.
Youngsters have made the videos, with the latest one in the series showing the richness of the west Odisha. Young filmmaker Eureka Apta and his team Digital Sketch Films have made the video. "It's a dream come true for us to represent Odisha on a national and international level," felt Apta.
The video features places such as the Gandhi Minar, Zero Point, Hirakud dam and leaning temple of Huma of Sambalpur, Ranipur Jharial and Harishankar temples of Balangir and the Science Museum of Burla, among others. "We roped in start-ups with fresh ideas to implement the project. We conducted recce trips to various places to finalise on what to feature in the videos," said tourism director Nitin Jawale.
Another video features waterfalls and the flora and fauna of the state.
Jawale said: "Around 33 per cent of Odisha's land mass is covered with forests, where one can visit places such as Bhitarkanika, Chilika, Simlipal, Debrigarh, Satkosia and the whole tract of the Eastern Ghats. We have got the best and they need to be explored."
The visual promotional series had begun in December last when the video Paradise Unexplored calling upon people to visit the state got released. The video was shot by another youth group, Detour Odisha, over a period of 20 days. It tells the story of a young guy meandering through the state's bounty on a skating board. In the process, he captures the serene beauty of waterfalls, lake and the forests.
"We will release at least two to three such videos every month. The aim is to ensure that a lot of visual content is available on social media on Odisha," said Jawale.
