Sambalpur, May 25: The final-year graduation results of the Sambalpur University are out and girls have fared better than boys. Girls have aced in 16 subjects while boys have topped in three.
The pass percentage for commerce honours is the highest at 91.63.
In arts and science honours, 85.04 per cent and 69.38 per cent students have cleared the exam, respectively.
Among students without honours, the pass rate is 81.04 per cent for arts, 58.25 per cent for science and 68.09 per cent for commerce.
Of the 3,692 arts students with honours subjects, 3,110 students have passed the degree exams with 237 candidates securing a first division.
In subjects without honours, out of 9,707 students, 7,637 have cleared the exam while 125 examinees secured distinction.
Of 1,286 students in science, 886 have passed and 270 students have secured first division.
Only 586 of 1,012 students without honours subject have cleared the exam and 51 of them have got distinction.
In commerce honours, 421 students appeared for exams, of which 338 have been successful and seventy-three students have secured first division. In non-honours category, 862 of 1,272 students have passed while 111 have been awarded distinction.
