Sambalpur, July 10: Sambalpur University has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with College Of Charleston, South Carolina, USA, to have an “exchange of knowledge between the two institutions”.
Vice-chancellor of Sambalpur University B.C. Barik, who signed the MoU on behalf of the varsity, said: “The agreement will open new avenue for the exchange of faculties and students of both the institutions.” Head of anthropology department Deepak Behera said: “There will be exchange of faculties, apart from the scope for exchange of students.”
“Within 90 days, both the institutions will jointly establish a liaison group that will have the responsibility to lead the discussions on the topics for potential affiliation,” said Behera.
Professor Cristine Finann of College of Charleston, who was accompanied by nine students, said: “The MoU provides a grand opportunity for both the countries. There will be exchange of talents between both the countries. There will be comparative study about childhood in India and that in USA.”
Students of the university were also excited with the new development.
“There will be exchange of ideas and culture between the two countries,” said Biswajit Sahu, a student of the university.
