Jajpur, Aug. 26: A businessman was found murdered at Jaraka Bazar within the limits of Dharmasala police station in this district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Kelucharan Rout. His motorcycle was lying abandoned on the road.
The police said the body of the 60-year-old businessman was found lying on the road of Kumari Colony at Jaraka town last night.
“About 8.30pm, my father went out of the house. He said that he was going to Kumari Colony. Around 9pm, we received a phone call informing us that my father was lying on the road of the colony. Reaching there, we found him lying on the road there in a profusely bleeding condition. There were some injury marks on his face and head by sharp-edged weapon,” said the deceased’s son Prasanta Kumar Rout.
In his police complaint, Prasanta mentioned that his father had enmity with a few persons over some land-related issues. Earlier, he was threatened by them.
