Baripada: The body of Parthasarahi Das, 42, a shopkeepers who had been missing since Thursday night, was found on Friday morning.

His body, which was found 5km away from his Station Bazaar shop, bore gunshot wounds.

Inspector in charge of town police station Ashok Nayak said: "The motive of the crime is yet to be established. We are exploring all possible angles."

The gunshot injury suggested that the assailant fired from behind from a close range from a 9 mm pistol.
