Bhubaneswar, March 29: As India meets Pakistan for the semi-final at Mohali tomorrow, private hotels in the capital are doing all that it takes to attract customers. From huge screens and posters to special dishes named after cricketers, the hotels are busy preparing for the “clash of the titans”.

Cashing in on the popularity of Indian cricketers, the hotels have come up with dishes such as Bhajji doosra zucchini, Tendulkar straight drive fried corn, boom boom Afridi cherry tarts, Zaheer yorker chicken drumsticks, Rawalpindi Express fried chicken and Yuvraj’s royal flick corn. Similarly, a wide range of cocktails and mocktails, also named in a similar fashion, are on offer.

“We already have a two plus one offer on alcoholic drinks. Since it is a major match, we have kept surprise gifts for our customers for every boundary and wicket that goes in India’s favour. If India reaches the finals, we will invite cheer girls and come up with more attractive offers,” said T. Vishwanath Rao, manager of a private hotel near Sriya square.

“For women it is Ladies Night on Wednesdays which means unlimited, complementary vodka-based drinks for them,” he added.

Another premier hotel near Jaydev Vihar is offering a heavy discount on food and drinks. Hotel organiser Pratap Jena said: “If India win, we will make soft drinks available at Rs 5 per bottle.” “With such offers and a scintillating match to come up, you can expect your blood group to turn blue positive!” added chef Debasish Roy.
