Koraput: A resident of Mundagaon in the district lodged a complaint against Laxmipur Congress MLA Kailash Kulesika at Tikri police station on Wednesday alleging that the legislator had verbally abused him and threatened him with dire consequences for sharing the picture of a bad road in his constituency on the social media.
The complainant, Niladri Bihari Patra, alleged in his FIR that Kulesika had rebuked him in filthy language and threatened him with dire consequences because he shared on Facebook the pathetic condition of the road from Laxmipur to Sorisopadar on Monday.
"I sense a threat to my life," reads the complaint filed by Patra.
The police have registered a case under sections 294 (obscene acts and songs), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) of the Indian Penal Code and an investigation has been initiated.
"Necessary action will be taken once we complete our inquiry," said additional superintendent of police, Rayagada, Y.J. Rao.
Kulesika could not be reached for his comments.
