Balasore: The North Odisha Start-Up Fest, 2018, was held under the aegis of North Odisha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Nocci) at the organization's business park here.

The event was conducted with the support of the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT)'s business incubator, the Small Industries Development Bank of India and the state micro, small and medium enterprises department.

"The fest aimed to create a platform to discuss new business and enterprise ideas, both in information technology and manufacturing fields, before potential angel investors and bankers, and learn about the available eco-system in the state along with available government incentives," said general manager of District Industries Centre, Balasore, Ghashiram Murmu.

During technical session, mentors, speakers and investors delivered their presentation to pitch for new enterprises and job creation. About 280 participants from Fakir Mohan University and technical colleges and institutions of Balasore district attended the event. "Several successful start-up entrepreneurs from Odisha shared their experience with the participants," said Nocci convener Amit Behera.
