Bhubaneswar, Oct. 27: Popular Oriya actor Anubhav Mohanty has turned producer with his new film Something Something. Anubhav is producing the film along with his brother Anuprash.

The star launched the film, which is being produced by his production house Bishnupriya Arts and Graphics in Cuttack today.

“It is because of my family’s support, especially my mother’s, that I dreamt of producing a film. I hope my fans will support and encourage me in this new endeavour,” said Mohanty.

“Wearing the producer’s hat is a completely new and different experience for me. I love being an actor, but I also commit to be a maker of good films for Oriya film-lovers,” he said.

The mahurat or launch ceremony of the film was held at Gadagadia Temple in Cuttack. Director Sudhakar Basant said Something Something was a romantic film.

“It is a fresh love story, but at the same time, upholds family values and is entirely family-oriented. Anubhav will be seen in a completely new role in the film. He will not be seen as an extrovert in Something Something. The viewers will find him perform the role of an ideal son,” said Basant.

The lead opposite Mohanty will be played by Barsha Priyadarshini while Ratan from Calcutta will also be seen in a major role. Comedian Hari Mohapatra has also been roped in for the film.

“The shooting is scheduled to begin on Friday. We will shoot only in Cuttack, except for the songs, for which we have planned a few outdoor locations,” said Basant. The film is expected to release in January 2012.

“We are looking at a New Year release. It will be a gift to film-lovers of the state,” said the first-time producer.

Music director Prem Anand has composed six songs for the film. “Most of the songs are romantic and peppy numbers while one is a sad song to suit a situation in the film. Singers Ira Mohanty, Udit Narayan and Sricharan have sung for the film,” he said.
