Bhubaneswar, Nov. 10: A group of young photographers in the capital have showcased a unique photo exhibition titled “The Speaking Frames” that captures moments and emotions of life. Being held at the Rashtriya Lalit Kali Akademi, the exhibition takes a look at wide range of interesting themes.
From wildlife, monuments to strange situations involving people from urban and rural regions, the photographs artistically display reflections of the amateur photographers of Cliquers club.
Human profiles with intense expressions of young and old people have been captured skilfully by the shutterbugs. Pictures of wrinkled faces taken by Poonascha Priyadarshi are particularly interesting as they depict the years of life behind the old face in a single frame. Similarly, Sabyasachi Jana’s tryst with wildlife photography has produced a series of thrilling images.
Whether it’s a swimming frog or a hissing snake, Jana has captured vitality of the wild in his photographs. Madhumay Mallik’s work is also captivating when it comes to wildlife.
“The entire collection is impressive, especially the wildlife pictures. I loved the variety of themes they have worked on,” said Sakshi Bhalla, a visitor and art enthusiast.
Ashesh Sahoo’s dexterity with the camera comes out in a photograph where a wall clock appears to be ticking while the world has come to a standstill. The picture of an old man in rags writing in English with a chalk on the floor outside the Bhubaneswar Railway Station is another interesting still displayed at the exhibition.
This picture by Vishal Bathwal shows the keen eyes with which the photographers have observed the life around them.
A soul-stirring picture is that of an elephant tied with a strong iron chain. The photographer Twinkle Patnaik has interestingly focused the chain closely while the elephant is seen standing afar in the picture.
Similarly, Shreeja Behera’s photograph wherein a human face is smeared with paint looks attractive and insightful at the same time.
Sankar Kanhar’s camera has seized a wonderful moment of a little Odissi dancer getting ready for her performance with seriousness
“The youngsters have done a great job with the camera. I don’t remember having seen such an interesting photo exhibition in a long time,” said actor Akash Das Nayak, who visited the Lalit Kala Akademi gallery on Thursday.
Around 119 photographs were exhibited at the event that was inaugurated on Wednesday evening. A separate section was dedicated to human profiles at the exhibition.
“We are delighted with the wonderful response of art lovers for the debut exhibition of our group. The feedback of the visitors should help us to groom our talent further,” said Tarashree Sahoo, a member of Cliquers photo club.
