Bhubaneswar: A skill development training programme hosted by the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development and the state government concluded in the city on Saturday.

The training was imparted in four trades - Logistic Management Associate, Supply Management Associate, Export Documentation and Procedure and Entrepreneurship and Export Management.

Director employment and CEO, Odisha Skill Development Authority, Rajesh Pravakar Patil, emphasised the need for entrepreneurial development in the state. "Hard work and meticulousness for maintenance of high standard of quality are essential for success in any entrepreneurial activity," he said.

Experts discussed about ways to garner employability opportunities in the trades and create entrepreneurship sources.

The chief executive officer, Institute of Entrepreneurship Development, Samarendra Sahu, said the institute had evolved a vibrant eco-system for promotion of entrepreneurship with the establishment of Livelihood Business Incubator, Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre apart from providing training for entrepreneurship development across the length and breadth of the state.

He said the Central Footwear Training Institute based in Agra, the apex institution under the ministry of micro, small & medium enterprises (MSME), New Delhi, for footwear training, has partnered with the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development and opened a footwear training centre on the institute campus.

"Two courses - the one-year Advance Certificate Course and the Certificate Course in Footwear Design and Production Training for six months - will start from February," Sahu said.

In the past nine months, 152 start ups cutting across all sectors and four incubators have been recognised under the Startup Odisha Initiative.
