
Balasore, Jan. 24: In a show of its defensive capabilities and military might, the Defence Research and Development Organisation put up for display several products from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) and Proof And Experimental Establishment (PXE) at the at the five-day Industrial Expo and Pallishree Mela here.
Chandipur-based DRDO has put up models of missiles, tanks and guns to highlight the country's growing firepower and military might. Video clips of missile launches were also on display. The kiosk has also seen a steady footfall, especially of the youth.
DRDO personnel are explaining the functions of various equipment displayed at their pavilion and answering visitors' queries.
The ITR pavilion has also prepared a montage of their history from its inception in Chandipur till date.
"The youth are showing a keen interest in the defence kiosks. We have displayed long-range missile Agni-V, which was mounted on a launcher," said ITR director Binay Kumar Das.
Priyanka Sahu, a college student who visited the defence pavilion, said: "I am excited to see various high-end defence equipment about which we only get to know from the television."
Industry associations and the district administration are jointly organising the expo, which began on Friday with about 500 kiosks from various sectors.
