Bhubaneswar, May 29: CBSE results were declared yesterday and for a large number of schools as well as students, it was a time to celebrate.
The pass percentage in the Bhubaneswar region this time was 86.25. With 98 per cent marks, the best performers in science are Abhilash Biswas of DAV Public School Chandrashekharpur, Panigrahi Smrutitilak Dash of Kendriya Vidyalaya Puri and Shreemoyee Sarkar of DAV Public School of Paradip PPL Township.
Gourav Agrawal of DAV Public School Sector 6, Cuttack, topped in commerce with 97.4 per cent marks.
“I am happy my hard work has yielded results. I have been able to perform so well because of the support of my family and my school teachers,” he said, adding that he would pursue a BCom degree from a reputed college either in Calcutta or Delhi and would like to become a chartered accountant.
KIIT International School (KIIT-IS) student Kamyaa Mishra topped the Bhubaneswar region in the humanities stream securing 98 per cent marks. A total of 4,48,489 students had registered for the exam from the Bhubaneswar region (comprising schools of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Bengal). The pass percentage in the region was 86.25. About 10,500 students had appeared from Odisha. Most schools in the city recorded cent per cent results.
