Sambalpur: Three persons were killed in two accidents in the district on Tuesday.
A private security guard, Minaketan Badhai, 40, was killed on the spot and another security guard, Jagdish Sethi, 25, died on way to Veer Surendra Sai Medical College Hospital, Burla.
While the third security guard, Sanat Bhoi, 40, has been admitted to medical college hospital, Telkoli police station inspector-in-charge Subhas Mishra said.
The accident took place when the three security guards, working at Ind Barath power plant in Brajarajnagar, were coming on a bike from the Jharsuguda side on the State Highway No. 10. The motorcycle collided head on with a truck in front of the Bhushan Steel Plant in Telkoli police limits.
The condition of the injured is stated to be out of danger.
Police seized the truck and arrested the driver.
In another accident, a 60-year-old woman was killed when their three-wheeler tempo overturned near Tilaimali under Telkoli police station on Tuesday, Mishra said. The deceased has been identified as Hemalata Oram of Singpali. Five others received minor injuries in the accident, he said.
