Bhubaneswar, March 26: The State-Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), headed by the chief secretary, cleared three investment proposals worth Rs 276.75 crore today.

Significantly, two of these proposals had come through the e-biz portal of the state government recently.

General manager of the Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation Of Odisha Limited (Ipicol) Kalyan Mohanty said the proposal by Tata Sponge Iron to set up an additional captive power plant at Bileipada in Keonjhar district with an investment of Rs 80 crore was approved by the authority.

The proposed captive power plant would generate an additional 12.5MW power in addition to the existing capacity of 12MW.

The second proposal which received the nod from SLSWCA was that of Beekay Steel Foundation to set up a 0.30 million tonne per annum rolling mill at Kalinganagar Industrial Area involving an investment of Rs 105.87 crore. The project will produce thermo-mechanical treated bars.

Besides, Saraf Agencies Private Limited's proposal to set up a scandium oxide plant of 2.4 tonne per annum capacity and a ferro titanuim plant of 5,000 tonne capacity at Chhatrapur in Ganjam district with an investment of Rs 90.97 crore was also cleared.

The products are generally used by the defence and aerospace sectors.

All the three projects will not need any extra land since the promoters have enough space.

Mohanty said the e-biz portal has been made functional and the investment proposals were now being received online. Various clearances and approvals were also being issued to the project developers through this portal.

Chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi advised Ipicol and the state level technical committee to make realistic assessment of land and water required for the upcoming industries.

The authority also reviewed the reports sent by the district-level single window committees. Padhi said the district level committees should sit regularly and follow up the sanctioned projects. Ipicol was advised to simplify the formats through which the district committees would submit the reports.

The SLSWCA and the State Project Monitoring Group also reviewed the progress of earlier approved investment proposals. Issues related to compensatory afforestation, land acquisition, forest diversion, construction of approach roads, setting up of sub-stations, power supply to new units and use of water were discussed and resolved at the meeting.
