Bhubaneswar, Jan. 28: The council of higher education (CHSE) today organised a meeting of college principals to ensure smooth functioning of examination management hubs.

It was discussed that each management hub shall have a strong room where the question paper packets will be stored. This room shall have only one entry and exit point without any windows or any other exposures in order to ensure proper security.

The exit door will have an iron grill gate in addition to wooden doors. Electric connection to the room must be disconnected in order to avoid short circuit of electricity when not in use. Entry and exit of persons to and from the room will be restricted to the hub personnel only and should be recorded in register kept at the gate.

The principals were asked to start the required work to set up the strong rooms with such specifications and complete them by February 10.

They were also asked to immediately take measures to install the CCTV cameras. Gangan Dhal, secretary, higher education department, said that the CCTV camera would be provided by the CHSE, but the maintenance of the same will be the responsibility of the college concerned.

“The strong room will have two locks and the keys will be kept by two officials. Both of them should be present at the time of opening and closing of the rooms,” said Dhal.

There was a detailed discussion on the storing of question papers. The examination management hubs shall receive the question paper packets from the officials of the council in two phases.
