Bhubaneswar, Nov. 26: Police today raided three properties belonging to Odisha Stevedores Limited managing director Mahimananda Mishra, who is being probed for his alleged involvement in the murder of the general manager of a shipping company.

Three police teams raided Mishra's house in Cuttack's Odia Bazar, farmhouse at Nischintakoili and the Empires Hotel at Saheed Nagar here. Sources said the cops seized documents that could help in the probe.

Four criminals had gunned down Seaways Shipping and Logistic Pvt. Ltd general manager Mahendra Swain in Paradip on October 26. The goons had first hurled crude bombs at the car he was travelling in. When he tried to escape, they fired two rounds at him, killing him on the spot.

The cops have taken six persons, including a sharp shooter and a Congress leader, into custody and issued lookout notices against Mishra.

On November 10, the cops froze Mishra's six bank accounts in Paradip. All these accounts were opened with nationalised banks, which contained deposits in crores, according to sources.

The police also raided the company's offices in Paradip and recovered several documents. On November 23, the police cancelled the firearm licences of Mishra and his son following a recommendation from Jagatsinghpur police, which are investigating the case. His son Charchit is a director in the company.
