Bhubaneswar, July 16: The state government is getting ready for next year's annual examination even before the Plus Two admission session for this year has ended.

The theory examinations for Arts, commerce, science has been scheduled to begin from the first week of March 2018. Council of Higher Secondary Education has issued a notification to this effect.

While the theory papers will conclude by March 31, the practical tests will be held between January 19 and January 30. The students will have to apply online for the examinations. Students have been asked to fill up the application forms between November 10 and December 4.

The exact schedule for both theory and practical papers will be out on December 22. The students will be given admit cards online on January 17. The results of the examination will be announced by June 10.

The second phase admission for vacant seats in Plus Two colleges in the state will start tomorrow. Students can apply to the colleges of their choice through Common Application Form (CAF) till July 24. The second phase selection merit list will be published on July 29 followed by admission of the selected candidates from July 31 till August 2.

"Students who have passed the matric supplementary examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education can apply for admission. Also, those who could not apply during the normal application period and students who did not get any seats in the first phase online admission are also eligible," said a senior officer of the higher education department.

Students who have already taken admission but want to slide up or switch to other colleges can also apply.

The students whose upper choices were not closed during the first phase of admission need not submit fresh CAF if they want to go up. They can do so by submitting a slide up willingness application in any Sams Resource Centre.

In a related development, the council has announced the Plus Two instant examination with 80.73 per cent passing the test. Out of 496 candidates who had failed in one subject in the annual examination, 396 have passed.
