Varsity to start law institute

BHUBANESWAR: The Siksha O Anusandhan University (SOAU) is all set to start a law institute from the 2010-11 academic year following a permission from the Bar Council of India. he new institute will be known as the SOA National Institute of Law (SNIL) and will offer five-year integrated law studies in three different streams such as, BA LLB, BBA LLB and BSc LLB besides Post-Graduation and PhD in Law.he SNIL also proposes to introduce career oriented diploma, degree and post-graduate courses in intellectual property rights, information technology, labour-man power related industrial law, human rights, international humanitarian law, international trade laws, competition laws, space law, biomedical law, bio-ethics and law, international advocacy, arbitration as a mode of alternate dispute redressal mechanism, e-governance, e-commerce and corporate law.

Cholera call

BHUBANESWAR: The central team, which had visited the cholera-hit Rayagada district, left for New Delhi on Tuesday. Contaminated water was mainly responsible for the outbreak. Public health and engineering departments should take steps to provide safe drinking water and build infrastructure in the areas,” said member of the central team T Rammurthy.
