One year of AIIMS OPD at Balasore

The functioning of the weekly super specialty outdoor health care facilities of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, at the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, here completed one year on Saturday.

Balasore: The functioning of the weekly super specialty outdoor health care facilities of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, at the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, here completed one year on Saturday.

The ITR had extended its infrastructure facilities for the outpatient door service of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.

The 48th weekly camp of the OPD of AIIMS was conducted on Saturday which was attended by 365 patients.

"As a mere coincidence 365 patients were attended by the expert doctors from AIIMS Bhubaneswar on the first anniversary day of the camp," said the director of ITR, Binay Das. Specialist doctors - Dr Chandra Sekhar Sirka from department of dermatology, Dr Prasanta R Mohapatra from department of pulmonary medicine and Dr Sanjeev Bhoi from department of neuro-medicine were present at the camp.

Specialists from various departments have been coming on each Saturday.

On an average about 250 patients avail the weekly facility. Dr. Major Mukunda Chandra Sahoo, medical superintendent of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, and nodal officer of AIIMS satellite centre at Balasore who coordinates event said: "The service is being provided uninterruptedly. Every week specialists from at least from three departments visit here and their names and departments are informed in advance."
