Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) is set to introduce a unified smartphone application - BhubaneswarOne - using which residents of the state capital will be able to lodge grievances related to various services rendered by electricity authorities, drinking water supply authorities and civic authorities, among others.
The app will be introduced in line with the unified helpline introduced by smart city officials last week. If all goes according to plans, the app will be made available for the residents, who will be able to download the same from various operating systems, such as Android, Mac and Windows, by next month.
BSCL managing director Krishan Kumar told The Telegraph that the developers were in the final stage of making the app available for the people. "This app can be utilised to file complaints on services provided by various city agencies - including civic, electricity and water supply," said Kumar.
The app will have different tabs for various agencies and will also have a tracking dashboard using which complaints can be tracked. Officials of respective agencies will also have the login credential using which the status of the complaints and its stages will be updated regularly.
At present, a similar app is available for the residents - My City My Pride - controlled and managed by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). The existing app entertains the complaints related to civic issues only, while the upcoming one will be equipped to deal with complaints on various other services.
"The app is aimed at removing confusion and provide hassle-free service to the people in a co-ordinated manner. The people will use only one app to lodge grievance related to various government agencies. This app will add to the benefit of the residents as well as our officials to ensure proper supply of essential services in the city," said mayor Ananta Narayan Jena.
Initially the civic authority, smart city corporation, electricity supply agency, drinking water supply agency and the Bhubaneswar Development Authority will be included in BhubaneswarOne, in later phases, other agencies - such as sewerage board -will be added in the app.
