The deceased has been identified as Kasinath Naika of Mujaguda village in Bhanjanagar police limits, while the kidnapped girl hails from Bhubaneswar, said police.

The irate villagers of Durgaprasad detained the car driver after the accident and informed the police. Later, the cops rescued the minor girl. "We have rescued the girl and handed her over to the family members," said Bhanjanagar police station inspector-in-charge Biswaj Kumar Routray.

The villagers of Durgaprasad blocked the road when the driver tried to flee after the accident. When they spotted the girl inside the vehicle, they confronted the driver. The man admitted that he had kidnapped the girl from Bhubaneswar. However, he managed to flee the spot during the course of the incident.
