Bhubaneswar, May 9: This year's Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) will be held at 78 centres across the state tomorrow.

As many as 44,471 students will appear for the examination, which is mandatory to get admission to most professional and technical courses at various colleges in the state.

The exams will begin at 9am and will be conducted in three sittings - 9am to 11am, noon to 1pm and 2.30pm to 4.30pm. The results will be announced in the first week of June.

OJEE chairman Tushar Nath said: "The entrance test for BTech courses, which was directed by the Orissa High Court, will be held around the first week of June. We will notify the students after the state government makes a decision on it."

The high court, following a petition by private engineering colleges, had directed the government to conduct the examination for students who wish to pursue engineering in the state.

An OJEE official said that the authorities were fully prepared for tomorrow's exams and all the arrangements were in place.

The observers and supervisors for the exams have already reached their designated centres, said OJEE secretary Priyabrata Sahoo.

Medical counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in the state colleges will also take place from this year.
