Jajpur: Three youths allegedly raped a young married woman after taking her to a forest on the pretext of giving her a lift to Cuttack. All the three accused were arrested and remanded to judicial custody. The accused, Subha Sahu alias Papu of Dhekikote, Manas Das of Turumunga and Sujit Ghadei of Anandapur village, all belong to Keonjhar district.

Bhubaneswar: Governor M.C. Bhandare, who is also chancellor of state’s universities, interviewed nine candidates for the post of vice-chancellor of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) on Friday. Contenders for the position included OUAT dean (agriculture) M.R. Kar, dean (extension education) Shankarsan Nanda, former dean (agriculture) N.K. Dhal, former dean (students welfare) Buddhadeb Mishra, retired professor (basic science) Ashutosh Samantray, retired IAS officer Rabi Narayan Senapati, IIT- Kharagpur faculty member R.K. Panda, Central Agricultural University scientist Dibakar Nayak and fisheries expert P.K. Jena.

Fog warning

Bhubaneswar: The met officials on Friday issued a fog warning for the next 48 hours. Shallow fog may occur over some parts of coastal Odisha.
