Dengue death

Balasore: A 17-year-old girl died of dengue at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack on Thursday. The deceased, Sangeeta Jena, from Inchudi village was shifted from the district headquarters hospital on Tuesday after her condition deteriorated. Doctors said that the patient was also suffering from jaundice.

Injured

Berhampur: A one-month-old infant blackbuck was injured after a dog bit it at Dhobapalli on Thursday. The forest department staff took the animal to Aska Veterinary Hospital.

Special trains

Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway has decided to run special trains to Pune and Patna from Bhubaneswar during Puja.

Student dies

Balasore: Headmistress of an upper primary school was suspended and a para-teacher was dismissed from the service after a student died on the school premises on Wednesday at Patimunda in Baleswar district. The deceased, Ritika Biswal, had come in contact with a live wire that caused her death.

CM visit

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday reviewed a few ongoing development works, including a second bridge over Mahanadi, Sambalpur-Khetrajpur Road, town flyover, ring road at Burla, sports complex and truck and bus terminus, in Sambalpur.

Book release

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday released a book, Language and cultural diversity, written by founding director of Central Institute of Indian Languages, Debi Prasanna Pattanayak.
