Govt plans training institute for disabled
Bhubaneswar: The state government will set up a special industrial training institute for disabled people near Barang on the city outskirts to impart vocational training. Chief minister Naveen Patnaik, while speaking during the World Disability Day celebration, emphasised on creating opportunity for the disabled. He also said the state government had initiated steps to set up a hostel for disable working women. Bhubaneswar: Warders of all jails in the state started a hunger strike from Monday, as the state government did not pay heed to their demands for revising their salaries on par with police constables. round 1,400 jail employees of 92 prisons in the state had been on a symbolic protest since November 26 by wearing black badges. Bhubaneswar: The health and family welfare department on Monday launched a web-based drugs inventory management system to monitor the inventory of drugs and consumables at different drug warehouses of health institutions. Health minister Damodar Rout inaugurated the system. This system will help keep track of the purchases, stock, indents, issues at different levels, transfers between warehouses and also the expiry dates of drugs, Rout said. Bhubaneswar: One person was killed and four others seriously injured near Nulia Nuagaon in Ganjam when the car in which they were travelling lost balance. The deceased has been identified as Kailash Chandra Moharana, 42. The injured have been admitted to MKCG Medical College Hospital. Sambalpur: Four persons, who were allegedly involved in a shooting incident at Brajaraj Nagar in Jharsuguda district have been arrested on Monday. The accused have been identified as Dinesh Mahato, Ramji alias Santosh Prashad, Chandramohan alias Mohan and Suraj Srivastav. The incident took place on November 28, in which a youth identified as Bijay Singh (24) was killed. Bhubaneswar: The railways have decided to run a special train between Hatia and Visakhapatnam through Sambalpur and Titilagarh. The Hatia-Visakhapatnam-Hatia weekly special train will leave Hatia every Monday between December 3 and 31 and will arrive at Visakhapatnam on the next day.n the return journey, the train will leave Visakhapatnam on Tuesdays between December 4 and January 1 and will arrive at Hatia on the next day. This train will have stoppages at Rourkela, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh Road, Balangir, Titilagarh, Kesinga, Muniguda, Rayagada, Parbatipuram, Bobbili and Vizianagaram between Hatia and Visakhapatnam.
