Cuttack: The Justice A.S.Naidu Commission on Friday issued notices to methyl alcohol licensees seeking details on source and sale particulars and directed the drugs controller to furnish the list of pharmaceutical companies in the state, who are permitted to manufacture oral liquid tincture preparations. Bhubaneswar: A tourist from Andhra Pradesh, on a visit to the sun temple in Konark, on Friday reportedly died of sunstroke. After touring the temple, the deceased, Ramchandra, sat down in a corner and collapsed. Bhubaneswar: Results of diploma entrance test (DET) 2012 was announced on Friday. Jyana Ranjan Biswal from Khurda and Rojalin Panda have excelled. Sambalpur: Excise officials on Friday arrested a person and seized around 110kg of ganja worth around Rs 5.5 lakh from his house at Hitasara of Naktideul block in Sambalpur. The accused has been identified as Anama Sahu. However, two associates of Anama escaped from the spot. Anama has been forwarded to court. Cuttack: Around 16 undertrials, who are lodged in Choudwar jail, staged a demonstration while they were being produced before a lower court here on Friday. The undertrials alleged that jail authorities were not providing them with basic amenities such as water despite the intense heat conditions. They sat on a dharna near the revenue divisional commissioner's (RDC) office for over 30 minutes. Bhubaneswar: The eighth and sixth semester examinations of BTech will be held on June 19 and not on June 9, according to BPUT website. The BPUT students had been on strike since on Thursday morning, demanding postponement of exams because of the ongoing heat wave.
