Court relief  

Bhubaneswar: Raygada additional district judge court acquitted Iranian-origin British charity worker Narges K. Ashtari of the charges of  death of a tribal child caused by negligence at Prishan Foundation in 2014. Narges had taken 30 inmates of the charitable organisation to Jholapala for a picnic. While they were playing close to Nagabali River, two boys were washed away by the river current. Though one boy was rescued, Asim Jilakara went missing in the river.  

Surrender 

Bhubaneswar: Three wanted Maoists, including two women carrying cash reward of Rs 1 lakh, surrendered before the Malkangiri superintendent of police. They are Maale , Dibya and Deba. 

Rape victim

Cuttack: Police have failed to trace the minor girl who was kidnapped and raped even five days after the arrest of the four alleged culprits involved in the crime. The whereabouts of the victim was not known since she was allegedly kidnapped on November 1, 2016. The cops had arrested the culprits two days after they received a video footage of the victim being sexually assaulted along with a complaint on March 18.

Suicide 

Bhubaneswar: A couple was found dead on Saturday near Musanalal village in Biswanathpur police limits of Kalahandi district. Police suspect that Narendra Majhi and Kanaki Majhi had consumed poison.

Rail stops   

Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway has decided to create a stoppage for Sambalpur-Puri-Sambalpur Inter-City Express and Bhubaneswar-Balangir-Bhubaneswar Inter-City Express at Naraj Marthapur station and Puri-Lokmanya Tilak (Mumbai)-Puri Express at Dhenkanal.
