Jharsuguda: A girl allegedly addicted to the Blue Whale Challenge attempted suicide in Belpahar police limits in Jharsuguda on Monday. The victim, a nursing student, consumed sedatives at her residence. It is suspected from preliminary police investigations that the girl could be a victim of the game.

Three dead

Rourkela: At least three members of People’s Liberation Front of India were gunned down and two others were injured in an exchange of fire between security personnel and rebels at Kulatapu forest on Odisha-Jharkhand border on Sunday. Dinesh Gope, chief of the outlawed outfit and one of his associates were injured in the incident.

Gang busted

Bhubaneswar:Chandrasekharpur police busted a mobile-snatching gang and seized 41 mobile phones worth Rs 3 lakh on Monday. Police have arrested five youths involved in snatching incidents.

Balasore: Unidentified goons looted nearly Rs 60 lakh after firing at an employee of Seragarh Toll Gate in Balasore on Monday. Pradip Yadav, the supervisor of the toll plaza sustained a bullet injury below his right shoulder.
