Man kills wife

Balasore: A 23-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her 36-year-old husband in Balasore on Thursday. The accused, Jeet Amresh Satpathy, fled from the scene after committing the crime. The victim, Nirupama , a native of Raibania was the second wife of the accused. Durga Madav Satpathy, father of the accused informed the police about the cold-blooded murder. 

According to him, the incident took place at around 11.15 am after a domestic dispute.

Student death

Balasore: Balasore police on Thursday registered a case of unnatural death after the body of a young girl was found floating in a pond in Jamjhadi. The deceased has been identified as Ranjulata Nayak, 20, a Plus Three first-year student of Tihidi College in Bhadrak. The police found a purse, shoes and personal belongings of the girl from the pond. She was missing since Shivratri on Tuesday. 

The girl had last gone to a fair along with her friends and gone missing since then.

Gang busted

Sambalpur: Jajpur Road police on Thursday arrested five members of a motorcycle-lifting gang and recovered eight bikes. The arrested were remanded to judicial custody after their bail pleas were rejected.
