Water ATM 

Bhubaneswar: Potable water at an affordable price will be available in 40 locations in the city. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has selected Sarvajal Piramal for execution of the project. Sources said that a MoU would be signed for implementation of the project within a month and the project would be commissioned within a year.

NAT blood test

Cuttack: Health and family welfare minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak on Friday inaugurated Nucleic Acid Testing -Polymerase Chain Reaction (NAT-PCR) blood testing facility at blood transfusion department at SCB Medical College and Hospital. The advanced tests would enable safe blood transfusion, as it will minimise the spread of various diseases, including HIV and Hepatitis, during transfusion. 

Vigilance net

Sambalpur: Vigilance sleuths on Friday arrested the tehsildar and additional tehsildar of Saintala in Balangir district for demanding bribe of Rs 5,000. The tehsildar, Anil Kumar Pattnaik, and additional tehsildar Rajendra Kumar Khora had demanded the money from Saroj Kumar Sahu of village Burda in the Saintal police station limits.

Undertrial escapes

Bhubaneswar:  An undertrial escaped while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital here on Friday. The undertrial, Pramod Mohanty, 52, was earlier arrested by Bidanasi police in connection with a murder case in 2013 and since then he was lodged at Choudwar circle jail. Mohanty escaped from a bathroom of the tuberculosis ward of SCB early on Friday morning, said a policeman. He was diagnosed with tuberculosis.
