Bus service

Bhubaneswar: Daily bus service started to Nagada via Sukinda from Chandikhol in Jajpur district after Nagada hogged limelight for malnourished children a few months ago. Earlier, lack of road communication came to the fore when the malnutrition deaths of over 19 tribal children had emerged as a major embarrassment for the state government. The bus service was flagged off by Sukinda legislator Pritiranjan Ghadai along with Jajpur collector Ranajn Kumar Das.

Protest

Bhubaneswar: Tension erupted on Friday in Nayagarh town after family members of a boy, who died at the district headquarters hospital, blocked the National Highway alleging medical negligence. The protesters even manhandled a police official. The 12-year-old boy from Damasahi was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition for snakebite on Friday morning. After his death, family members alleged medical negligence and blocked the road by placing the deceased’s body across it.
