Vimsar director

Bhubaneswar: Renowned surgeon Aswini Kumar Pujahari took over as the new director of the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (Vimsar), Burla, from Friday. Earlier, Pujahari was working at Vydehi Medical College and Research Centre at Bangalore as a professor in surgery.   

Picture arrest 

Bhubaneswar: A man was arrested on Thursday for posting obscene photographs of a girl on Facebook after the girl’s father refused his marriage proposal. Notably, the accused had approached the girl’s father for marriage. As the father out rightly refused, the man had resorted to this act to malign her character. The accused was arrested after the girl’s father lodged a 
complaint at Jajpur Road police station.

Electrocuted

Bargarh: An elderly man and his daughter were electrocuted at Lastara village in Atabira police limits in Bargarh district in the morning on Friday. The deceased have been identified as Harishankar Nayak and Prabhati Patra. According to sources, Harishankar was electrocuted when he touched the wall of his house that was charged with an earth wire.When Harishankar’s daughter went to rescue him, she was also electrocuted.
