Report deferred

Bhubaneswar: The fitment committee, which was supposed to submit its report to the state government to implement recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission on Friday, sought another 45 days time to finalise its report. “We have identified some issues. There are some anomalies in various pay of scale,” Balakrishnan said.

Steel plant

Bhubaneswar: JSW group chief Sajjan Jindal met chief secretary AP Padhi on Friday. Jindal discussed about his company’s proposal to set up a steel plant with an investment of Rs 50,000 crore here. He said the land acquired by the state government for the Posco steel plant was a potential location for the propsoed steel plant, but the final site was yet not finalised.

Balasore: Five masked goons looted Rs 7.34 lakh at gunpoint from Kasba Kamarda Service Co-operative Society Ltd’s Kamarda branch in Balasore on Friday. Police have started aninvestigation.
